Activ8 Self Defence have worked in local Primary and Secondary schools in the Lancashire area (Blackpool, Preston, Lancaster and Morecambe) for a number of years.
Martial arts and self defence classes in schools can help protect children against any kind of abuse or bullying, through teaching them basic self-defence techniques which could help them in a hostile situation. They are taught the importance of discipline and respect whilst building up their confidence in an environment they feel secure in.
We can arrange, structure and teach martial arts and self defence classes for children from reception class age upwards, and the ability and requirements of each group are considered.
For younger age groups: awareness of stranger danger, emergency services contact procedures etc
For colleges and universities: incorporating scenarios which could potentially arise in the lifestyle of the students, i.e. attacks in a town or city centre at night.
All the instructors comply with the governmental requirements:
- CRB checked
- First Aid Certification
- Health and Safety Training
We recognise improved and elite training through rewards, such as certificates, gift bags and membership to our full independent classes.
Our lessons can be tailored to fit in with the curriculum or as an extra curricula activity through before or after school clubs.
Activ8 offer holiday clubs during school holidays – activities may include:
- Self Defence / Jujitsu
- Japanese Arts & crafts
- Fun health & nutrition activities (such as smoothie making)
